The coaches here really went above and beyond to help me be comfortable. There was no belittling or insecurity. They are genuinely there to help you learn and get better. I got freaked out in my first session because it was a choke hold. They were super cool about me going at my own pace and had no issue with me sitting out after I freaked out. Every coach came over to encourage me and let me know it was a particularly intense lesson. They had me come back another day. I faced my fear and got back on the mat and ended up have a really fun time. The coaches were just really great about everything. I was so afraid they would embarrass me for not being able to finish the session or tell me I was being a wuss and they never did. Everything they said was encouraging me to keep going and see this as an opportunity to improve. It’s a terrific place , good environment. The professor keeps it simple and the curriculum is suitable for everyone. I’m 5’10 297 lb and I can do it.
