Anti-bully Seminar April 21st

It is proposed that ever 7 minutes a child is bullied on the play grounds of America, as well as there being on average by-standards of these events up to 80% of the time. For these reasons, Gracie Barra Santa Ana would like to help out the community and improve awareness of this epidemic.

At Gracie barra Santa Ana, we will be having an Anti-bully seminar. Anyone is welcome, from ages of 3 to 15, to come take part.

The principle will be to teach appropriate behavior in harassment situations and improve by-standard awareness.

The class is free, and no uniform required, children should wear comfortable athletic type clothing. Class will focus on self defense, reporting bullying, and the bystander awareness.

All children welcome regardless of past, current, or non-membership; Invite friends, family, and acquaintances.

It will take place 9:00 AM on April 21st. Save the date!

Schedule changes!

Just a reminder that as of February 1st, we are changing the schedule. Tuesdays and Thursdays we are having Advanced class at 7:00pm, and Fundamentals at 8:30pm.

We are also adding a Fundamentals class on Wednesday, at 6:00pm.

With these class changes, we’re hoping to see even more people on the mats! So come out and train!

Holiday Schedule starts today.

Just a reminder for everyone, the holiday schedule starts today. The morning classes will stay the same.

Evening classes however, we will have an All Level Kids class 5-6pm, followed by an All Levels Adults class 6-7, with some sparring afterwards. Weekends we will not be having any classes.

We also want to thank everyone who came out to the potluck, we had a great turnout, lots of good food, and a great time! See you on the mats!

Saturday Potluck

Just a reminder for everyone to swing by the school on Saturday, the 17th for the potluck! You don’t have to bring your gi, just yourself and even some friends if you like. And of course, you can always bring your favorite dish to share with everyone! We will be meeting at the school from 10am to 2pm. See you on Saturday.

It’s time for the holidays, and GBSA is getting into the holiday spirit too! Check out our tree next time you come in, and feel free to bring in decorations if you’d like to help us out!

We have both exciting news and events to tell you guys all about. First off, make sure to congratulate Professor Martin on receiving his black belt! Professor received it just this Saturday, December 3^rd from his own Professor, Romulo Barral. We’re very proud and happy for him. Make sure you congratulate him next time you see him! Check out the pictures on our facebook page!

Don’t forget we will be having a potluck on Saturday, December 17^th! So save the date and come hang out and enjoy a Saturday evening. Don’t worry about bringing your gi, but feel free to bring in any food or delicacy.

And lastly, take a look at the holiday schedule. The week before and week after Christmas we will be having a special schedule, but don’t worry, there will still be plenty of time to train.

Sundays are at 10am!
